1. Different technologies do different jobs
Browsers support cookies and other storage technologies. Chatsifieds also uses local storage, session storage and a service worker for learning features. These are not all “cookies”, so this policy separates them.
2. My Learning local storage
My Learning uses browser local storage to remember lessons you mark complete, saved Phrase Wall phrase identifiers and Practice Lab completion/attempt metadata on that device. Typed practice answers are not stored in the learning-progress record. This data is not a server-side Chatsifieds learner profile.
You can clear this learning state from My Learning or through your browser's site-data controls.
3. First-party learning-insights storage
The first-party learning-insights feature uses limited browser storage to remember its opt-out setting and to avoid repeatedly sending the same bounded event during a browser session. It does not use a Chatsifieds account ID or persistent analytics visitor ID. Raw Search English wording is not sent to the learning-signals endpoint.
Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track disable the Chatsifieds first-party learning-insights events. This does not automatically disable a separate third-party advertising provider.
4. Offline cache and service worker
Chatsifieds uses a service worker/browser cache so core assets and previously visited eligible static learning pages can remain available during a temporary loss of connection. The current service worker does not intentionally cache PHP URLs or query-string URLs. You can clear the cache through your browser/site-data controls.
5. Third-party advertising
Some Chatsifieds pages currently load Google advertising technology. Depending on Google's configuration, user choices and applicable law, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, local storage or other identifiers to deliver, limit, secure and measure advertising. Third-party advertising technology is controlled by the provider's own systems and policies, not by the Chatsifieds My Learning opt-out.
6. External fonts, libraries and embedded resources
Some pages may request fonts, JavaScript libraries or other resources from external providers. Like most web requests, those providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser information, requested resource and request time. Where a page embeds an external service, that provider may apply its own privacy/cookie rules.
7. Sponsor and partner measurement
Chatsifieds may use privacy-limited aggregate counts to understand whether a sponsored learning placement is being viewed or used. Unless clearly disclosed otherwise, Chatsifieds does not provide a sponsor with a named learner profile or the raw wording a learner typed into Search English.
8. Your controls
- Use My Learning to clear local learning state or disable Chatsifieds first-party learning insights.
- Use browser controls to block or delete cookies/local storage and clear cached site data.
- Use advertising-provider controls where offered to manage personalised advertising settings.
- Be aware that blocking storage or third-party scripts can affect saved progress, embedded content or advertising.
9. Changes
